For the Holidays...this is the place to be. Private but not isolated...nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just off the Parkway, this contemporary and charming authentic log cabin comfortably sleeps eight people. Made from hand-hewn Hemlock logs, the cabin is presented in a nature motif, well appointed and complete with modern comforts such as Wi-Fi/broadband, cappuccino/espresso machine, great kitchen, cozy fireplace, walnut furniture and stone accents, etc., to welcome you for a day, a week, or longer! Housekeeping is covered, and linens are provided, so you can relax and enjoy your getaway by the fire with a good book, glass of wine, good company...whatever you desire.
The cabin sits on the Dan River and offers the perfect setting for a family outing or a get away for two. On site and within walking distance, enjoy an historic and peaceful chapel known for intimate weddings, as well as spring fed ponds and tributaries, an ice cream parlour, a carousel, Christopher's Pizza-with live bluegrass music, and more! After a great hike in the beautiful mountains, (maybe Rocky Knob Trail on the Parkway), stop by Chateau Morrisette or Villa Appalachia for a glass of wine by the fire. Within a few minutes from the cabin, you'll enjoy historic Mabry Mill, other wineries, Nancy's Candy Factory, fine dining, and the many activities the area has to offer that make this a vacation destination from hiking and cross country skiing on state park trails, biking, horse back riding, trout fishing, shopping, antiquing, bluegrass music-including the Crooked Road-Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, pottery and arts. While private, the cabin is a couple of minutes from the Meadows of Dan, and close to Stuart, Floyd, and Hillsville.
