My Hawaiian Valentine

Aloha, this is your Hawaii City Host, Jackie, and I have put together a list of my favorite romantic adventures. Hawaii is considered one of the most enchanting destinations in the world; a warm breeze, swaying palm trees, and the rhythm of the ocean all make this a Hawaiian paradise.

Maui
Mama’s Fish House is a wonderful restaurant that is away from the resort areas. Mama’s is located on the oceanfront in the small community of Kuau on the Hana Highway. The restaurant décor offers the essence of old Hawaii. After dinner, take a peaceful stroll to the beach to listen to the ocean.

Kauai
The island of Kauai is a great place to be simple and romantic. You can enjoy a picturesque horseback ride by the waterfall, then swim and picnic courtesy of the Princeville Ranch. During this idyllic adventure, you will experience the splendor of Kauai’s North Shore.

While on Kauai, Tunnels Beach with its thundering surf and a rain forest almost dipping its leaves into the ocean, plus the towering Na Pali Coast Mountains behind you make this an ideal location for romantic picnics.

Oahu
If you are seeking whimsical water fun, Dolphin Quest, located at the Kahala within the resort’s 26,000-square-foot natural lagoon, is home to six Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. Trainers offer daily education programs where guests can experience these beautiful animals up close. My husband swam with the dolphins here and he enjoyed it so much he would love to do it again.

For something a little more relaxing, visit the Kahala’s luxurious Spa Suites with their signature infinity-edged soaking bath and landscaped courtyard of native Hawaiian plants and flowers. This world-class spa is a great place to be pampered in preparation for a special evening out.

There are many restaurants where you and your valentine can be swept away, but La Mer (located in Waikiki at the Halekulani Hotel) is Hawaii’s only five-star restaurant. It’s an extravagant treat.

Of special note, the Kahala also provides keiki club activities, so you and your squeeze can enjoy yourselves while your keiki experiences exciting Hawaiian adventure, including crabbing or lei making.

Hawaii
For romantic adventures, the Island of Hawaii is the place to visit. Relax on the lanai of your own private Hawaii vacation rental home or enjoy a special evening at the Volcano House, dining in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Rooms are furnished with rare Koa wood furniture for a touch of simple elegance that is uniquely Hawaiian. Take a stroll in the moonlight to enjoy the lava as it flows down the mountain side.

These charming places are just a few of my favorites. While you are on any Island here, you can have a romantic time enjoying Hawaii in all of it’s splendor from the mountain to the ocean. Remember to watch the sunrise or sunset, and to listen to the palm trees swaying in the wind, while the warm trade winds embrace you.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love Hawaii and have visited there 4 times myself. I have been to one of the places on your list and will look forward to trying out some of the others on my next trip.

I have been on Oahu, Maui and Kauai! My neighbor was borna nd raised in Hawaii so we always enjoy each others trips to the area.

Vacation rentals can be a great way to stay on the island as well as hotels.
