More Hawaiian adventures—this time on Maui

When you’re in Hawaii, it’s “easy to island hop,” according to our City Host.

Flights can range from $20 to $150 each way, so if you’re visiting more than Oahu on your next trip to the Islands, our Hawaii City Host recommends these fun adventures on Maui.

  • Start your day enjoying a sunrise bike ride down Haleakala. A variety of tour companies offering this adventure can pick you up from your vacation rental home and drive you by van to the top of the volcano, about 10,000 ft. in elevation. There, you can take some amazing sunrise photos before hopping on your bike and having a guide navigate your group down to an enjoyable breakfast. It an adventure the whole family can enjoy!

  • In the afternoon, take the family to visit Ali`i Kula Lavender Farm. This way, you can enjoy a walking tour on the slopes of Haleakala, the same volcano you traversed that morning.
  • If you’re without the kids, spend the afternoon visiting Tedeschi Vineyards, Maui’s only commercial winery. Located in Ulupalakua, the winery occupies one of the most historic buildings on the island of Maui. The King’s Cottage dates to 1874, when it was built specifically for the visit of Hawaii’s monarch David Kalakaua and queen Kapi’olani.
  • In the evening, experience some Hawaiian culture at a local event sponsored by the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The MACC website lists a wide variety of activities ranging from music to theater to dance.

Extend your tropical vacation beyond the beach by experiencing some of these Maui adventures. Do you have a question or a favorite Maui destination? If so, contact our Hawaii City Host. Mahalo.

I just got back from a trip to Maui … it was my first time there. I’d recommend spending a little time up in Kapalua. Amazing beaches and during the shoulder season its very pleasant (aka not tons of tourists).

And if you need a restaurant to die for, it’s The Pineapple Grill. If you can only afford one nice outing this is it. You won’t regret it.

Cheers.
